At a glance: seven nights, three regional bases plus Pamukkale

Days 1–3: Istanbul. Days 3–5: Cappadocia. Day 5: proposed onward flight to İzmir and a Selçuk or Kuşadası hotel. Day 6: Ephesus, followed by a road transfer to Pamukkale. Day 7: Hierapolis and the permitted travertine paths. Day 8: depart from the agreed airport or continue your journey.

This is a route idea, not a flight schedule. An airline may show a connecting itinerary rather than a direct same-evening service between Cappadocia and İzmir. If the travel time makes a Day 5 arrival impractical, adjust the order or add a night. Do not purchase a separate onward international ticket until the airport and baggage connection have been checked.

Day 1 · Arrive in Istanbul

Arrive at your confirmed airport, transfer to the hotel and keep the evening flexible. IST and SAW are different airports; note the code on your booking. A gentle neighbourhood walk is an option if your flight is early and on time.

Overnight: Istanbul.

Day 2 · The historic peninsula

Give the Old City one substantial day. A guide can connect the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia with the wider history of Sultanahmet. Decide whether a major interior visit fits your interests and current access arrangements, then allow lunch and walking breaks.

Day 3 · Bosphorus morning, then Cappadocia

Take a short Bosphorus outing in the morning and return for luggage. The proposed flight to Nevşehir (NAV) or Kayseri (ASR) should leave after 17:00 if a suitable service exists. Allow the hotel-to-airport journey, traffic, domestic check-in buffer and the transfer from the arrival airport to your Cappadocia hotel. Do not schedule a full-day city tour here.

Overnight: Cappadocia after the confirmed flight and transfer. Compare the airport options before committing to a hotel.

Day 4 · A Cappadocia highlights day

Choose a coherent central route around Göreme-area cave heritage, rock formations and an Avanos-area craft stop. Operators use “Red Tour” for differing stop lists, so confirm the actual route, entrances, guide and lunch. A balloon can be requested on your first suitable Cappadocia morning, subject to weather and approval; it is optional and never guaranteed.

Day 5 · A short local visit, then western Türkiye

Choose a modest morning near your hotel, such as a village, viewpoint or short guided visit. Retrieve your luggage and reach NAV or ASR with the required check-in allowance. The proposed after-17:00 journey to İzmir (ADB) must be checked for your exact date, especially if it changes planes. Transfer onward to Selçuk or Kuşadası only if the arrival time remains reasonable.

Overnight: Selçuk or Kuşadası. If no workable flight exists, ask for a different route order or another night; do not imply a direct flight is assured.

Day 6 · Ephesus, then the road to Pamukkale

Explore Ephesus with time for its ancient streets, the Library of Celsus area and a proper lunch break. Select any additional Selçuk stops carefully. Afterwards, travel by road to Pamukkale or Denizli with a comfort stop and check in. Your proposal should state the actual pickup point and expected door-to-door travel window.

Day 7 · Pamukkale and Hierapolis

Spend a focused visit day at Hierapolis and the permitted travertine paths. The walking surfaces, access rules and the availability of individual facilities can change; confirm current arrangements before departure. Use the remaining time for a relaxed meal rather than adding another distant archaeological site.

Overnight: Pamukkale or Denizli.

Day 8 · Departure, with the connection checked

Transfer to the agreed airport or continue by road. If your flight home departs Istanbul, decide whether a same-day domestic connection is sensible, whether the tickets are linked, and whether you must collect baggage or change airports. An early international departure may make an additional Istanbul night the safer choice.

Overnight: none in this seven-night example.
